The start-up company of the young entrepreneur: Toon Roozen. After two years of studies, brainstorming, designing and testing, this idea was launched early this year. It started from the creative study Product Design at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam. During the last year he followed the Urban Technology research programme and was able to graduate on this topic at Koppert Cress. At this fantastic company he examined how he could ensure that people get more involved at home with their diet. This eventually resulted in Grown.

After his graduation internship at Koppert Cress, director Rob Baan offered him the opportunity to further elaborate the concept. Now he is starting with his own company ‘Grown’, with which he wants to make home growing fun and easy in different ways. With the first product, CressToday, he focuses on cress.

Cress? ‘’Yes, seedlings full of vitamins and minerals. Because these ‘mini herbs’ are so young, they have an intense taste. Some cress is ready as early as after seven days, giving you the pleasure of harvesting much more often than with ordinary herbs.
